The US Customs and Border Protection department has revealed that an Indian is arrested every 20 minutes at the US border illegally. It said that 65 Indians are being arrested every day. However, it said that this number has decreased slightly in 2025 compared to 2024. It said that while 85,119 people were arrested in 2024, 23,830 people were arrested in 2025.
The report alleged that India is the main country for illegal immigration. The majority of Indians stopped were those who came for jobs and better wages, and that strict policies have significantly reduced illegal infiltration. As a result, infiltrators are choosing the most dangerous routes, the report said.
