Sri Lankan Navy apprehends 25 fishermen from Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu: The Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 25 Tamil Nadu fishermen on charges of transboundary fishing.
The Sri Lankan Navy arrested 25 Tamil Nadu fishermen on Monday for transboundary fishing in the waters of the North Kankesan Sector.
They also confiscated two of the fishermen’s boats. The arrested fishermen have been taken to the Kankesanthurai camp for questioning.
It is believed that after investigation, the fishermen will be handed over to officials of the Jaffna Fisheries Department.
The continued arrests of Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy have caused great fear and distress among Tamil Nadu fishermen.
In this context, the families of the fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy and fishing organizations have appealed to the government to rescue them.
