Tamil Nadu: ‘Singapen’ special task force formed for the safety of women

Tamil Nadu: The state government has launched a new initiative to strengthen women’s safety in Tamil Nadu. A government order has been issued to establish a special task force called “Singapen” across the state under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister. The move is stated to expedite action in cases involving women and enhance the security system’s effectiveness.

Vijay took oath as Chief Minister on Sunday. Immediately after taking the oath, he signed three important files, taking steps towards implementing key promises made in the election manifesto. One of these files concerned the formation of the “Singapen” special task force for women’s safety.

According to the government order, this task force will monitor women’s safety issues across the state. Its primary responsibility will be to promptly respond to complaints, increase patrols in sensitive areas, and provide quick response to prevent crimes. The government states that this arrangement will help provide a safe environment for women and further strengthen the police system.

According to sources, this task force will be equipped with modern technology and specialized training to ensure its speed and effectiveness. Plans are also underway to establish units in all districts of the state.

After taking the oath of office, the Chief Minister clarified that his priority is to fulfill election promises on time. In line with this, this women’s safety measure was implemented on the very first day. The government believes this will reduce crimes against women and strengthen public confidence in law and order.
