Ward boy molests woman in Delhi hospital, accused arrested

New Delhi (IANS) | A woman, who was sleeping on the fifth floor of the ward at Delhi’s Rajiv Gandhi Superspeciality Hospital, was molested by a ward boy. A senior police officer gave this information on Thursday.

The husband of the victim woman is admitted in this hospital.

The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday and the accused, Kunal Verma (25), has been nabbed, the official said.

According to the police, at around 12.10 pm on Wednesday, the police control room at GTB Enclave police station received a call about a woman being molested by the hospital staff at Rajiv Gandhi Superspeciality Hospital Tahirpur.

The statement of the victim was recorded, in which she said that her husband was hospitalized since May 22, the senior police officer said. She was sleeping on the fifth floor in the same ward where her husband was admitted when the accused came near her between 3 am and 5 am, touched her inappropriately and molested her.

Subsequently, a case under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code was registered and the accused was arrested, the officer said.
