Cashless Facility Expanded for Beneficiaries in Punjab

The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH & RC), Punjab, has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Punjab, to continue providing cashless treatment to ESIC beneficiaries.
The MoU was signed by Dr Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCH & RC Punjab, and Deepak Malik, Regional Director, ESIC, in the presence of Dr Rachita Biswas, Medical Commissioner, ESIC, and Dr Rajiv Chhabra, State Medical Officer.
The renewed collaboration aims to ensure that beneficiaries under the ESIC scheme continue to receive quality healthcare services without facing financial burden.
Under the agreement, HBCH & RC provides a comprehensive range of medical services to ESIC beneficiaries, including Outpatient Department (OPD) services, Inpatient Department (IPD) care, diagnostic and laboratory services, emergency treatment, daycare services and radiotherapy.
The association between HBCH & RC and ESIC has already benefited thousands of patients across Punjab. During the financial year 2025–26, a total of 2,395 ESIC cardholders availed cashless treatment at the institute’s New Chandigarh campus, while 713 beneficiaries received treatment at its Sangrur campus. On average, nearly 150 beneficiaries utilise ESIC facilities at the institute every month.
