Premlata Vijayakanth demanded immediate action from the government on power cut.

Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth has demanded immediate effective action from the state government regarding the problems faced by farmers due to frequent power cuts in Tamil Nadu. He said that due to frequent interruptions in power supply, agricultural work is being badly affected and farmers are suffering huge losses.

Premalatha Vijayakanth in her statement specifically mentioned the situation in Vriddhachalam and surrounding areas in Cuddalore district. He said that due to frequent power cuts in these areas, farmers are not getting enough water to irrigate their crops. Due to lack of water, standing crops in the fields have started drying up, causing serious financial loss to the farmers.

He said that the agriculture sector is already facing many challenges and in such a situation the problem of power cuts has become an additional burden for the farmers. He also said that farmers have not been able to get the expected relief from the loan waiver schemes announced by the government, which has further weakened their economic condition.

The DMK leader alleged that in the current situation, farmers are going through a serious crisis and their livelihood is being directly affected. He said that farming is completely dependent on weather and irrigation system, hence irregular supply of electricity has become a big problem for the farmers.

He appealed to the state government to immediately improve the power supply system keeping in mind the interest of the farmers and ensure uninterrupted power supply, so that irrigation work is not affected. He also said that the government should assess the situation at the ground level and provide appropriate assistance to the affected farmers.

Premlata Vijaykant said that if this problem is not resolved in time, the situation of farmers may become more serious in the coming days. He urged the administration to solve the problem of power cuts on priority basis and provide stability to the agriculture sector.

After this statement, the debate regarding the problems of farmers in the state has once again intensified. Many farmer organizations have also supported the demand for improving power supply. He says that the cost of farming is increasing and in such a situation, obstruction in basic facilities like electricity increases the problems of the farmers.

At present, there has been no official response from the government on this statement, but the pressure regarding power supply in agriculture and rural areas seems to be increasing.
