Tamil Nadu: Vice President Radhakrishnan pays tribute on Vanchinathan’s death anniversary.

Tamil Nadu: On the occasion of Vanchinathan’s death anniversary, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan paid tribute to him and remembered his contribution and sacrifice. On this occasion, he said that Vanchinathan had fearlessly opposed the cruel and harsh methods adopted to suppress the Swadeshi movement during the British rule. He said that Vanchinathan’s life is a symbol of patriotism, courage and sacrifice, which will always be remembered with respect in Indian history.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan shared a post on the social media platform ‘X’ on the occasion. In his message, he said that he paid floral tributes to freedom fighter and martyr Vanchinathan on his death anniversary at the Vice-President’s residence. He wrote that Vanchinathan had strongly raised his voice against foreign rule and against the harsh measures taken by the British to suppress the indigenous movement.

He also mentioned in his message that Vanchinathan was a fearless opponent of the policies and oppressive actions of the British rule. According to him, at that time many drastic steps were being taken by the British government to weaken the Swadeshi movement and suppress the spirit of independence, but revolutionaries like Vanchinathan faced these policies boldly.

C.P. Radhakrishnan further said that Vanchinathan had taken strong action against the British rule after the alleged atrocities against freedom fighters at Maniyachi railway station. He said that under the circumstances of those times, Vanchinathan dedicated his life to the country and expressed his reaction against the British officer Tirunelveli District Collector, which was part of the events of that period.

The Vice President said that the sacrifice of Vanchinathan is an important chapter in the history of the Indian freedom struggle. He said that it was because of such freedom fighters that the spirit of independence in the country became stronger and awareness against British rule spread among the people.

He also said that the efforts made by the British to suppress the Swadeshi movement were openly opposed by heroes like Vanchinathan and by their courage proved that patriotism is greater than any oppressive force. According to him, Vanchinathan’s life is a source of inspiration for the coming generations.
