Major administrative reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh, transfer of 9 senior IPS officers
Madhya Pradesh: The government took a major administrative step late Friday evening, transferring nine senior IPS officers. Following these transfers, new appointments were made to several key police units and ranges in the state. This reshuffle is seen as a step towards strengthening the police administrative system.
According to a government order, IG (Administration) Ruchivardhan Mishra has now been assigned the responsibility of IG, Rural Bhopal. He has been relieved of administrative duties and given the responsibility of overseeing law and order and rural policing at the grassroots level. This change is believed to be aimed at strengthening policing in rural areas.
In the same vein, IG, SCRB (State Crime Records Bureau) Harinarayan Chari Mishra has been appointed as IG (Administration). He will now handle important administrative and coordination responsibilities at Police Headquarters. This important responsibility has been given to him due to his experience.
Additionally, IG, SAF (Special Armed Forces) Chandrashekhar Solanki has been transferred to IG, Narmadapuram Range. He will now be responsible for strengthening law and order and regional policing in the Narmadapuram Range. His experience working in a sensitive department like the SAF is expected to be beneficial in this new posting.
In another significant change, IG, Narmadapuram, Mithlesh Shukla has been appointed IG, Sagar Range. Shukla previously held additional charge of the Sagar Range, but has now been given full command of the range. He will now fully assume responsibility for law and order and crime control in the Sagar Range.
Similarly, DIG Simla Prasad has been appointed DIG, Khargone Range. He has been tasked with strengthening policing in this tribal-dominated and sensitive area. His appointment is considered significant from an administrative perspective.
SSP, Alirajpur, Yashpal Singh Rajput, has been transferred to the post of SP, Railways, Indore. They have now been given the responsibility of railway policing, where the primary responsibility will be to ensure passenger safety and maintain law and order on railway premises.
This government decision is being seen as an attempt to improve balance and efficiency within the police department. Such transfers are typically made based on administrative needs, the regional law and order situation, and the officers’ experience.
