New timing in all board schools of Jaunpur, instructions issued to teachers also

Jaunpur: Following the return of weather conditions to normal in Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, the Basic Education Department, on the instructions of the District Magistrate, has changed school hours. District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Sameer issued an order on Tuesday setting new timings for all schools in the district from grades 1 to 8. This new arrangement will be effective from July 8, 2026.
According to the order, all council, CBSE, ICSE, recognized, aided, madrasa, and other board-run schools in the district for grades 1 to 8 will now operate from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Previously, school timings were changed due to weather and other circumstances. The BSA directive states that all schools should ensure that they operate according to the scheduled timings. Morning prayer and yoga practice times have also been set in council primary and upper primary schools. Accordingly, prayer and yoga will be conducted from 8:00 am to 8:15 am.
Meanwhile, the recess time for students has been set from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Officials have directed that all arrangements be made in schools keeping in mind the convenience and safety of children. The BSA has also issued clear instructions regarding teacher attendance. The order states that all teachers must be present in school 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Furthermore, after the end of the teaching period, teachers must remain in school for at least 30 minutes to complete necessary academic and administrative tasks.
The Education Department has instructed all school principals and headmasters to strictly enforce the new timings. Any negligence at any level will result in legal action against the individual. Officials state that this decision was taken to ensure regular student learning and improve academic activities once the weather normalizes. The new timings will be convenient for both students and teachers, and the teaching system in schools will be able to function smoothly.
The District Basic Education Department has instructed all concerned schools to inform them of the order. Parents have also been appealed to ensure that they send their children to school according to the new timings. It is worth noting that school timings are changed from time to time, keeping in mind the heat, rain, and weather conditions. Now, after the weather becomes normal, schools from classes 1 to 8 in Jaunpur district will operate according to their new scheduled timings.
