Major administrative reshuffle in UP, 182 PCS officers transferred, more than 100 SDMs changed
Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a major administrative reshuffle late Sunday night, transferring a large number of PCS officers. The government initially released a transfer list for 10 PCS officers, followed shortly by a larger transfer list for 182 officers. This transfer includes officers from nearly all districts in the state.
According to the list, the 182 PCS officers include over 100 Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs). Additionally, officers holding several key positions have been assigned new responsibilities. This major change has been made with the aim of further improving the administrative system and expediting work.
In addition to the Sub-Divisional Magistrates, the transfer list also includes the Assistant Housing Commissioner of the Housing Development Council, the Registrar of the Waqf Board Tribunal, the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Lucknow, and an Assistant Director-level officer of the Local Bodies Directorate.
Following the government order, all concerned officers have been instructed to assume their new postings with immediate effect. The transfer of officers is being seen as an effort to increase administrative efficiency in the state.
It is being reported that officers posted at the same location for a long time have also been included in this reshuffle. The government has been periodically transferring administrative officers to emphasize improved functioning in districts and prompt resolution of public problems.
In this major administrative reshuffle, SDMs of several districts in the state have been replaced. Sub-Divisional Magistrate-level officers play a crucial role in the district’s administrative system. SDMs have significant responsibilities in revenue matters, law and order administrative work, and the implementation of government schemes.
In addition, officers associated with municipal bodies and other departments have also been transferred. Officers posted in departments such as the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, the Local Bodies Directorate, and the Housing Development Council have been given new responsibilities.
According to administrative experts, this major reshuffle of PCS officers is likely aimed at effectively implementing government schemes at the grassroots level and streamlining the administrative system. The government regularly reviews the deployment of officers, particularly in districts.
Transfers of IAS and PCS officers have been taking place periodically in Uttar Pradesh. Through these transfers, the government assigns new responsibilities to administrative officers based on their efficiency, experience, and needs.
Following this transfer list released on Sunday night, administrative changes will be seen in several districts of the state. Changes in administrative functioning at the local level are also expected once the new officers take charge.
