Assets worth ₹8.39 crore seized in Fatehabad.
Stepping up its crackdown on drug trafficking, the Fatehabad police have seized illegal assets worth over ₹8.39 crore belonging to 42 alleged drug smugglers under the NDPS Act and intensified action against drug networks.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, ASP Divyanshi Singla stated that the district police, under the guidance of SP Nikita Khattar, are adopting a “zero-tolerance” policy towards drug trafficking. In addition to arresting the accused under the NDPS Act, the police are identifying and seizing movable and immovable assets—acquired through proceeds from the drug trade—under Section 68F of the Act.
In a recent operation, the police seized 477 grams of heroin—valued at approximately ₹1 crore in the international market—and arrested Aman Kumar, an alleged inter-state drug smuggler from Punjab’s Moga district. He is currently in police custody, and investigators are probing the supply chain and identifying other members of the network.
Singla added that the police have also seized assets worth approximately ₹1.2 crore across four recent cases; these assets include houses, agricultural land, vehicles, and bank deposits.
Highlighting action taken against other crimes, she mentioned that the Jakhal police solved a robbery case—which occurred near Kudni Head on July 28—within hours, arresting three residents of Punjab and recovering evidence linked to the crime.
