3,000 litres of ghee seized on suspicion of adulteration.

As part of this campaign, a departmental team raided a warehouse in Deep Nagar and seized approximately 3,000 liters of desi cow ghee. During the operation, samples of the ghee were collected and sent to a government-authorized laboratory for testing. Only after the report is received will it become clear whether the seized ghee meets food safety standards.
According to Food Safety Department officials, the department had received information that a large quantity of desi cow ghee was stored in a warehouse in the Deep Nagar area. Acting on this information, the team arrived at the site and initiated an inspection. A search of the warehouse revealed a massive stock of ghee. Subsequently, departmental officials took the entire stock into custody in accordance with regulations.
Officials stated that such establishments and storage centers are inspected periodically to ensure the quality of food products; this action was carried out as part of that ongoing process. The department’s objective is to ensure that food products sold in the market comply with prescribed standards and that consumer health is not compromised in any way.
During the operation, food safety officers collected ghee samples following the prescribed procedure. These samples have been sealed and sent to a government-recognized laboratory for testing. The laboratory report will assess the ghee’s purity and quality, as well as check for any adulteration. If the investigation reveals a violation of food safety regulations, strict action will be taken against the concerned individual or establishment in accordance with the law.
