2.57 lakh youths in Bihar will receive skill training.

Patna. The Bihar government has taken a significant step towards connecting the youth with employment opportunities. The state cabinet has decided to continue the ‘Kushal Yuva Karyakram’ (KYP) for the next five years. Under this scheme, 2.57 lakh youths in the state will receive specialized training in skill development and employment-related areas.
This proposal was approved during a state cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Following the meeting, he shared this information via a post on the social media platform ‘X’. He stated that the state government is continuously working to prepare the youth to meet the demands of evolving technology and industries.
The ‘Kushal Yuva Karyakram’ is a key skill development initiative of the Bihar government aimed at making the youth employable. Through this scheme, young people receive training in communication skills, computer literacy, and behavioral skills, enabling them to secure better job and self-employment opportunities.
The government recognizes that the employment landscape is undergoing rapid changes. The advent of new technologies has created a demand for new types of competencies within industries. Consequently, it is essential to keep the youth updated with the times. With this objective in mind, the decision has been made to extend the ‘Kushal Yuva Karyakram’.
According to information released by the state government, a large number of youths will be trained and prepared for employment over the next five years. Those undergoing training will be equipped with skills relevant to various industrial sectors.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary stated that the government’s goal is to make the youth of Bihar self-reliant. Through skill training, young people will gain access to better employment opportunities and be able to showcase their talent in companies both within the country and abroad.
The cabinet meeting approved a total of 11 proposals, not just the one related to the ‘Kushal Yuva Karyakram’. The government gave its consent to several important decisions concerning various departments. However, detailed information regarding the other proposals will be released department-wise.
Schemes focused on youth employment and skill development have been running in Bihar for a long time. The state government believes that academic qualifications alone are insufficient; young people must also possess practical, employment-oriented skills. It is with this perspective that skill training programs are being prioritized.
The ‘Kushal Yuva Program’ offers young people the opportunity to develop the fundamental competencies required for employment. Training in areas such as computer literacy, communication skills, and personality development helps them thrive in a competitive environment.
Experts believe that the job market is undergoing rapid technological changes. Amidst the expansion of artificial intelligence, digital services, and modern industries, it has become essential to equip the youth with knowledge of new technologies. In this context, the government’s initiative could prove instrumental in preparing young people for future job opportunities.
This scheme by the Bihar government is expected to benefit youth from rural areas and small towns as well. Upon completing the training, new avenues for employment and self-employment may open up for them.
The state government states that making the youth self-reliant is among its top priorities. Efforts are being made not only to boost the income of young people through skill development but also to strengthen the state’s economy.
Following the Cabinet’s decision, optimism regarding the ‘Kushal Yuva Program’ has grown among the youth. Details concerning the training process, application procedures, and selection criteria under the scheme will be released in the near future.
