Patna. The ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ (Lamp of Blessings) program was organized in Bihar to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. Thousands of earthen lamps were lit, and cultural events were held at various locations, including the capital, Patna. Several BJP leaders, including Samrat Chaudhary, participated in the event. Meanwhile, the occasion has also sparked political rhetoric.
According to reports, lamp-lighting ceremonies were held at multiple locations—such as Patna’s Marine Drive, the Patliputra Sports Complex, the Chief Minister’s residence, and the BJP office—to celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday. A large number of party workers and supporters attended the events, lighting lamps and praying for the Prime Minister’s good health and longevity.
Samrat Chaudhary participated in a program held at the official residence and lit the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya.’ He also attended other related events. Cultural performances were also presented by artists during the proceedings.
BJP leaders described the event as a symbol of the public’s respect and support for the Prime Minister. Party workers noted that the Prime Minister’s birthday is being celebrated across the country through programs dedicated to public service and welfare.
However, opposition parties have raised questions regarding the event. The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) criticized the program, registering its objections and alleging that it was intended to convey a political message.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) media panelist Priyanka Bharti took a dig at the event while sharing videos and photos on social media, questioning the nature of the celebration and expressing her views.
The political debate surrounding the event has heated up the political atmosphere in Bihar. While the BJP portrays it as an expression of the people’s respect and good wishes for the Prime Minister, the opposition views it as a form of political campaigning.
