Andhra: 3 persons caught; 92 kg of cannabis seized.
Nellore: In a major breakthrough, Kavali Rural police have seized 92.79 kg of ganja and arrested three persons and seized two mobiles during vehicle checks near Musunuru Toll Plaza on NH-16 late on Thursday. The accused were identified as Govinda Raj (32) of Krishnagiri Taluk of Tamil Nadu, Mutyala Santosh Kumar of Jalaripet, Bangaram Ravi Raj (34) of Sagar Nagar of Visakhapatnam city.
Addressing a press conference at Kavali Rural police station on Friday, Circle Inspector G Rajeswara Rao said that during vehicle checkups at Batatadinne village of Kavali rural mandal near Musunuru Toll Plaza at 8 pm on Thursday, they found 31 large packets weighing about 97 kg in a Maruthi Swift car. He said when the police questioned the people in the car about the packets, they tried to flee from there in the car. Police took them into custody and found contraband in the packets. A case was registered at Kavali Rural police station and investigation is underway.
