Harish Rawat speaks on ED action; levels serious allegations against the government.

Dehradun. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat has targeted BJP over the summons received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Rawat said on Sunday that there is electoral nervousness in BJP in view of the state assembly elections and that is why ED summons has been sent to him. He alleged that this action was an attempt to create political pressure. Harish Rawat responded through a post on social media platform X. He said his experience has been somewhat sweet, somewhat exciting and somewhat disappointing. Instead of calling this entire matter merely a personal issue, he called it a concern related to the country and society.
Rawat wrote in his post that how will the country run if governments work with a spirit of revenge. He said that he was called here not by ED, but by the arrogance of power and election nervousness. He said that he will face these circumstances. While reacting to the action of ED, the former Chief Minister also thanked the agency and took a dig at BJP. He said that due to this action he has got a chance to come to Dehradun and now the further situation will be seen.
This entire matter is related to the alleged irregularities in the 2016 VPDO examination of Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC). During the investigation of this case, the Enforcement Directorate conducted search operations at several places in Dehradun. The investigating agency also searched the premises associated with Harish Rawat’s personal assistant Chandan Singh Jeena. During the search, ED has informed that unaccounted cash, gold and expensive watches worth about Rs 32 lakh have been recovered.
