02 interstate accused arrested with 07 kg ganja
Raipur. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agarwal has given necessary guidelines to all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges including anti-crime and cyber unit in-charge to detect black drug businessmen and take action to curb it effectively. . On which all the police gazetted officers, police station in-charges and the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit are collecting information regarding drug dealers by engaging informers, patrolling and collecting information. In the same sequence, information was received that some persons near Samvet Shikhar, in front of Rajbandha Maidan under Maudhapra police station area, are keeping cannabis in their bag and are looking for a customer to sell it.
On which Additional Superintendent of Police City/Crime Abhishek Maheshwari and City Superintendent of Police Kotwali Yogesh Sahu, in-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and station in-charge Maudhapara were directed to catch the accused red-handed with ganja after verifying the information. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and police station Maudhapara went to the said place and identified and arrested the persons of the appearance told by the informer. During interrogation, the persons told their names to be Rohit Choubey and Sanjay Sharma, residents of Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. When the team members searched the bag kept with them, it was found to contain ganja. On which the accused Rohit Choubey and Sanjay Sharma were arrested and a total of 07 kg of ganja worth about Rs 70,000/- was seized from their possession and action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 135/23 Section 20B Narcotics Act in police station Maudhapara.
