2 accused arrested for transporting illegal liquor
Raipur. Two accused have been arrested for transporting illegal liquor under police station Azad Chowk area. According to the information, the team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit received information that 02 persons in Activa vehicle were transporting liquor illegally near Vivekananda Ashram Tiraha under Police Station Azad Chowk area. On which Additional Superintendent of Police City/Crime Abhishek Maheshwari, Additional Superintendent of Police Paschim Dev Charan Patel and City Superintendent of Police Azad Chowk Mayank Gurjar (B.P.S.) directed police station in-charge Azad Chowk to catch the accused red-handed with liquor .
On which, under the leadership of station in-charge Azad Chowk, the police team of police station Azad Chowk went to the said place and identified the persons of Activa vehicle and appearance told by the informer. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names as Abdul Salam and Rajsingh Thakur, residents of Azad Chowk, Raipur. When the team members searched his Activa vehicle, he was found to have 60 pavs of English liquor. On which both the accused were arrested and seized 60 paiva of English liquor and Activa vehicle number CG/04/NY/4725 Jumla worth about Rs. Action was taken under 34(2) Excise Act.
