Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers, dies
Washington. US military analyst Daniel Ellsberg, whose change of heart on the Vietnam War prompted him to leak the classified “Pentagon Papers,” exposed US government deception about the war and set off a major freedom-of-the-press war, Friday passed away at the age of 92, his family said in a statement. Ellsberg, who was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer in February, died at his home in Kensington, California, the family said.
