Students should study the journey of life from Mohan to Mahatma – Director

A one-day Gandhi Darshan training was organized for the scholars of renowned National Law Universities of the country on Friday at the premises of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences. Law students from places like Pune, Bengaluru, Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, Dehradun, Goa, Patna, Ranchi, Tamil Nadu, Sonipat (Haryana), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Sikar & Jodhpur (Rajasthan) and Raipur etc. participated in this camp.
Inaugurating the training camp, the director of the institute, Professor B.M. Sharma stressed upon law students to study the moral values of Gandhi’s philosophy of life and adopt their basic principles by studying the constitution. Calling upon the students, he said that every student should study the journey of life from ‘Mohan’ to ‘Mahatma’ so that the vision of finding positive and creative solutions to the challenges faced in life can be developed.
Dr. Jyoti Arun, describing Gandhi’s life journey in detail, said that if even a common student becomes a conscious citizen, he can oppose any injustice and exploitation in a non-violent manner. Gandhi’s life is a symbol of experiments, so following the basic moral values, one should try to give better to the society through his own experiments. In the second session of the training, Dr. Vikas Nautiyal, while explaining the different movements carried out by Gandhiji in the national movement, clarified that Gandhi’s yoga is a reflection of the fact that each step is important in the awakening of the society. It is our responsibility to keep intact the basic democratic values of freedom gained after a long struggle.
On this occasion, the students expressed their commitment to read Gandhi’s original writings by answering logical questions. Institute’s Special Officer Professor Soumitra Nath Jha explained to the students the importance of discipline in life and expressed gratitude.
The camp was started with Bhajan and Gandhiji’s favorite prayer in which the students participated enthusiastically.
