The Chief Minister gave approval – 10,000 farmers of the state will be benefited by the state government’s encouragement to beekeeping.
The state government is continuously working towards strengthening the economic condition of the farmers of the state by providing them new sources of income. In this sequence, Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has approved a financial proposal of Rs 25.67 crore for providing grants, kits and training to farmers to encourage beekeeping in the state.
With this decision of the Chief Minister, 10,000 farmers of different districts including Bharatpur, Sriganganagar, Alwar, Dhaulpur will be benefitted. According to the proposal, 40 percent grant will be given to 2500 farmers for beekeeping, 50 bee boxes and 50 bee colonies per farmer. Also, grant money will be made available for one bee-keeping kit per farmer. Apart from this, 7500 farmers will be given beekeeping training and they will be registered as beekeepers on the Madhukranti portal.
Funds will be made available from the Farmers Welfare Fund for providing training, grants and kits to the farmers. With this decision of the Chief Minister, while beekeeping will be encouraged in the state, the income of the farmers will increase by joining this profitable business. It is noteworthy that an announcement in this regard was made by Mr. Gehlot in the budget for the year 2023-24. This approval has been given in implementation of this announcement.
