Fake currency racket busted, one arrested
Guwahati (IANS). The Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police has arrested a person with a large consignment of fake Indian currency near ISBT Bypass in Guwahati.
On Friday, officials said that fake Indian currency has been seized.
Based on the intelligence a team of STF launched an operation in Guwahati. The arrested Mohd Sehnoor Islam (28) was involved in illegal FICN related activities.
After this, the team conducted a search operation at the house of the accused in Dahom village, Guwahati. Where the police found 500 bundles of Indian currency notes with photographs as well as note-sized paper bundles.
Police said that the accused has been involved in this illegal activity for a long time. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections. Police have recovered four cell phones, a car and other items from the accused.
