Arrested for threatening to kill Minister Chhagan Bhujbal
Pune (IANS). Pune Police has arrested a man from Raigarh for allegedly issuing death threats. It had issued death threats to Chhagan Bhujbal, a Maharashtra minister and breakaway leader of the Nationalist Congress Party.
According to the police, the unknown caller has been identified as 24-year-old Prashant Patil. ARPE dialed Bhujbal’s number late on Monday night. The caller claimed that he had taken a contract to eliminate the minister and would execute it today (Tuesday).
The minister’s office immediately informed the Pune police. Acting swiftly, the police nabbed the accused from Mahad town in Raigad district. A police team reached Mahad in the early hours today. The accused is being brought to Pune for further investigation.
According to the investigation, the accused had threatened to kill him in an inebriated condition, but showing vigilance, the police have increased the security of minister Bhujbal.
