Seven killed as bus falls into canal in Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati (IANS). Seven people, including a child, were killed and 12 others injured when a bus carrying a wedding procession fell into a canal in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district on Tuesday. Police gave this information.
The bus going from Podili to Kakinada fell into the Sagar canal near Darshi.
There were 35 to 40 people in the bus.
He was on his way to Kakinada to attend a marriage function.
Police reached the spot and started rescue and relief operation.
According to the police, a state-owned Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus was hired for the journey.
The bus driver suddenly dozed off, due to which the accident happened.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Aziz (65), Abdul Hani (60), Sheikh Rameez (48), Mulla Noorjahan (58), Mulla Jani Begum (65), Sheikh Shabina (35) and Sheikh Hina (6).
