According to experts, due to the weather, the price of tomato can cross Rs 250. According to the website of Consumer Affairs, the average price of tomato in the country has reached Rs.108. From the country’s capital Delhi to Punjab and Haryana, tomato prices have increased at the speed of a rocket. Due to rain across the country, the supply has stopped and the production has reduced. Due to which a rise in prices is being seen.
The price of tomato has come down below Rs 200 in these cities.
According to the website of the Consumer Affairs Department, the price of tomato in Bathinda has reached Rs 203 per kg. On the other hand, the price of tomato has come down to Rs 200 per kg in Barnala. At the same time, there are many cities in the country where the prices of tomatoes are running beyond Rs 150. Tomato has become Rs 160 per kg in Dharamshala, Mainpuri, Raisen, Dharni, Jhalawar, Sahibganj and Srimuktsar Sahib and Rs 158 per kg in Hoshiapur. On the other hand, the price of tomato has come down to Rs 180 per kg in Lakhimpur Kheri. It has reached Rs 153 in Basti, Rs 150 in Gautam Budh Nagar, Singroli and Firozabad, Rs 155 in Baran.

Whereas, the cheapest tomato is being sold in Bagalkot, Karnataka. Where it is available at Rs 34 per kg. At the same time, the price of tomato in Barpeta city of Assam is less than Rs 40 per kg. According to the data of the Consumer Affairs Department, the price of tomato is being sold at Rs 38 per kg in Barpeta. Tomato is being sold for Rs.39 in Udalguri city of Assam. The price of tomato in Assam’s Sonitpur, Tezpur and Haflong is less than Rs 40. At the same time, tomatoes are being sold at Rs 39 per kg in the Kolar area of South India.
