Police arrested 8 accused in chain snatching case
Balrampur. These days the cases of chain snatching are increasing day by day. The latest case has come to the fore from Ramanujganj in the district. Here, chain snatching was done from a woman in the Gandhi Maidan vegetable market. In the case, the police have arrested 8 accused of the gang.
Actually, this whole matter is related to Ramanujganj police station of Balrampur district. On the evening of 9th July, a woman was buying vegetables in the vegetable market of Gandhi Maidan. He was wearing a gold mangalsutra. The miscreants stole his mangalsutra and fled from the spot. The victim woman informed about this to Ramanujganj police station. After which the police registered a case on the complaint of the woman.
Ramanujganj police formed a team and started searching for the accused. During this, the police also conducted searches in the haat-bazaar in the border area of Surguja, Jashpur district. During this, it was learned that the accused used to sell the stolen goods at Chandan Jewelery Shop in Ambikapur. The operator of the jewelery shop informed the police about those people. After which the police arrested 8 people.
Police has arrested 8 people of the gang. These include six women and two men. Police has registered a report against them under sections 379, 411 and 34 of the IPC. The accused Balkumari Giri, Mamta Giri, Anita Giri, Barati Giri and Mini Giri have been arrested.
