22 people fell ill after drinking pipeline water, admitted to Sims Hospital

Bilaspur. In Chantidih area of the city, 22 people fell ill after drinking dirty water. Due to which there was a stir in the area. Immediately after getting the information about so many people falling sick at the same time, the health department team reached there and got the sick people admitted to the hospital. Testing of drinking water has also been started in the area.

The pipeline of drinking water in the area passes through the drains. In such a situation, the risk of diseases increases in the area during the rainy season. On Friday, people started complaining of vomiting and diarrhea one after the other from many different places including Chantidih Pathan Mohalla, Grampara. Children, elderly and women are among the sick. All were admitted to other hospitals including Sims.

After getting information about the case, the Chief Medical Health Officer also reached. He told that immediately a team of doctors has been constituted and sent for investigation. The team surveyed 52 houses, where about 22 people were found ill. 13 people were admitted to Sims Hospital. The rest have been admitted to another hospital. People are being made aware to be careful about drinking water. Medicines are being distributed.
