Stalin should raise Mekedatu dam issue during opposition parties meeting: Tamil Nadu BJP
Chennai (IANS). Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai said the party wanted Chief Minister MK Stalin to condemn the Karnataka government’s action on the Mekedatu dam issue during the opposition meeting in Bengaluru.
The BJP president said that when the Cauvery Management Board is present, the Chief Minister of Karnataka has no right to say that he will not give water to Tamil Nadu.
The BJP leader said that if the chief minister returns to Tamil Nadu without condemning Karnataka’s action, the party will protest with black flags. In a statement, he said the party would hold a protest on July 23 against the rising prices of vegetables as well as the hike in power tariffs.
Annamalai said the party would hold protests in 12,600 gram panchayats across Tamil Nadu. Taking a jibe at the opposition meeting in Bengaluru, he said that no one wants to know about it.
The BJP leader said an alliance against a person like Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not last more than three months.
