Congress’s question, have more sour grapes come in the mouth of the Chief Minister of Assam?

New Delhi: Congress hit back at BJP leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for mocking the opposition alliance’s new name ‘India’, asking if he has got more sour grapes in his mouth? His ‘guru’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Skill India, Startup India and asked Chief Ministers of various states to work together as Team India. Taking a jibe at Sarma, Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said, “Is there an abundance of sour grapes in the Assam CM’s mouth? His new guru, Modi, has given us Skill India, Start-up India and Digital India.” He has asked the Chief Ministers of various states to work together as ‘Team India’. He also appealed for Vote India.

Rajya Sabha MP Ramesh said, “But when 26 political parties refer to their formation as India (Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance), they get incensed and say that the use of India reflects a ‘colonial mindset’. You should tell your boss.”

“Our civilizational struggle is centered around India and India. The British named our country India. We must strive to free ourselves from the colonial legacy. Our forefathers fought for India,” Sarma wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. And we will continue to work for India.”

He further wrote, “BJP for India.”
On Tuesday, Mallikarjun Kharge told reporters in Bengaluru, “We will fight and win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections together.” He said, the first success of the alliance is that everyone has agreed on the name. We have named it ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance – India’.”

Opposition parties held another important meeting in Bengaluru, Karnataka to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to party sources, during his address to the leaders at the meeting, Kharge also indicated that his party was not interested in getting the prime minister’s chair in the next elections and would stand with its allies to protect India, the Constitution, secularism and democracy. Ready to fight together. “Our intention is not to grab power for ourselves. It is to protect our constitution, democracy, secularism and social justice,” Kharge said at the beginning of the meeting.
