Dalit woman sarpanch thrashed with slippers
Shivpuri (IANS). In Madhya Pradesh, the incidents of atrocities on the Dalit and tribal class are not taking the name of stopping, a new case has come to the fore from the Gram Panchayat hill of Kolaras Janpad Panchayat of Shivpuri district, where the dalit women sarpanch was beaten up by the villagers. The three accused have been arrested by the police.
According to the information received, on Sunday, July 16, Gopal Jatav, the elder son of Geeta Jatav, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Pahari, was absent for some work. There Dharamveer asked to get the sarpanch’s signature on a paper and did not tell what was written on the paper, so Gopal refused to get the signature done, on which Dharamveer beat him up. Gopal’s mother Geeta Jatav, who is also the sarpanch, was going to Dharamveer Yadav’s house to complain. During this, Dharamveer Yadav, Ramveer Yadav and Mulayam Yadav surrounded him on the way. All three caste-indicative abuses at him and all three thrashed him with shoes and slippers by throwing him on the ground. Geeta says that Dharamveer has been harassing her continuously since last one year.
SP Raghuvansh Singh Bhadauria said that a case was registered against the three accused in this case under the ST-SC Act. They have been arrested by the police. A case was registered against the three accused under the ST-SC Act.
