Moving away from romantic roles, doing something different: Sharad Malhotra
Mumbai (IANS). Breaking away from his previous image of the romantic hero, Sharad Malhotra will be seen playing the lead role in the upcoming web series ‘Honey Trap Squad’.
The web series ‘Honey Trap Squad’ also stars Akanksha Puri, Karanvir Bohra and Manu Punjabi.
Sharad said, “I am very choosy about the kind of work I do. For the first time I got to see different looks including a Dabbawala, a Sardar and a Kinnar. He said, the digital medium has evolved very fast and the thriller content is being liked by the audience.
“I am sure my fans and audience will love my look as it is very different from my previous work. I am working with Akanksha for the third time, and our music video has turned out to be a huge hit.
He further added, OTT gives great opportunities to the actors to perform. I am excited to work on this platform. He said, an actor’s job is to act in which the medium and stage can be different.
Sharad made his acting debut in 2004 with the role of Prince Goldie in ‘Princess Dolly and Her Magic Bag’. His first leading role was in the lead role of Sagarpratap Singh in ‘Banoon Main Teri Dulhann’. He gained popularity by playing the character of Maharana Pratap Singh in ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap’.
He has also worked in serials like ‘Kasam Tere Pyar Ki’ and ‘Naagin 5’. Sharad made his film debut in 2012 with ‘From Sydney with Love’.
RAW has an extended unofficial branch in the upcoming web show ‘Honey Trap Squad’. Which includes women agents who are dead in government records. The web series will stream on ALTT from 20th July.
