BSF shoots down Pak drone, seizes three packets of heroin
Jaipur (IANS). Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot down a Pakistani drone and recovered three suspected heroin packets from the spot. Officials gave this information on Thursday.
“On Wednesday night, Border Security Force personnel posted along the Indo-Pak International Border near Raisinghnagar in Sector Sriganganagar heard the sound of a drone coming from Pakistan and shot it down,” he said.
“During morning area search, three packets of suspected heroin and a Pakistani drone were recovered from the area.”
Under this operation, three packets of suspected heroin weighing about 2.3 kg were recovered, whose value in the international market has been estimated at about Rs 12 crore. Heroin recovered by BSF will be handed over to the concerned agency for investigation.
“In the past also there have been nefarious attempts by Pakistan to smuggle drugs through drones from across the border, but their attempts are being foiled by the jawans,” the officials said.
