Sushil Modi: With generous central assistance, Bihar has emerged at the forefront of eradicating poverty.
Once again, former Bihar Deputy CM cum BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi has made a scathing attack on the state’s CM Nitish Kumar while praising the Modi government at the Center. He has said that Bihar has gone ahead in eradicating poverty with generous central assistance. 4.5 times increase in grants-in-aid to 2 lakh 35 thousand crores as compared to the UPA regime. There has been a change due to the clear policy and honest intention of the Prime Minister and the Nitish government of Bihar is unnecessarily patting itself on the back.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi said that after the formation of the NDA government in 2014, from the very next financial year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi put full force in the development of backward states like Bihar, so 16 percent people came above the poverty line due to liberal central assistance and heavy investment in new welfare schemes. Bihar got maximum benefit from this. Sushil Modi said that the report of the NITI Aayog proves that in the nine years of the Modi government, Bihar remained at the forefront in eradicating poverty.
Made possible because of PM Modi
He said that this change was possible only because of the central government and Prime Minister Modi, not without the central government. Sushil Modi said that in nine years, more than 2 lakh 35 thousand crores were given under this head by increasing 4.5 times in grant-in-aid as compared to the UPA regime. Similarly, the devolution grant was increased by 3.5 times from 1 lakh 6 thousand crore to 3 lakh 57 thousand crore.
Nitish government is unnecessarily patting its back
He said that the change took place not because of the hollow slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’, but because of the solid policy and honest intentions of the NDA government, but the Nitish government is unnecessarily patting itself on the back. Sushil Modi said that 18 thousand crore rupees were spent on the Central Government’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which benefited more than 85 lakh farmers.
He said that the central government is spending one lakh crore rupees on the construction of new bridges, Mahasetu and 6-lane roads in Bihar. Due to this, thousands of people of the state are getting the opportunity to get employment and eradicate poverty. Sushil Modi said that 18 thousand crores were spent on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, due to which 37.39 lakh urban and rural poor got their own pucca houses. He said that about 9 crore poor people got free ration from the Anna Yojana. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 1.7 crore poor people got gas connections. Of these, 76 thousand beneficiaries belong to the Dalit-Adivasi community.
