Chief Minister pays tribute to Bisahu Das Mahant on his death anniversary
Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to the former Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh, the late Bisahu Das Mahant, on his death anniversary at his residential office today. The Chief Minister said that Mahantji’s entire life was dedicated to public service. Mahant Ji has contributed to the development of the state as a legislator and minister in undivided Madhya Pradesh. He accomplished the work directed towards the betterment of people through agriculture, irrigation, and the construction of roads.
Baghel said that Bisahu Das Mahant Ji has significantly helped in bestowing global fame on Kosa and weaving art famous in the state. In view of this valuable contribution, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to award the best weavers of the state every year in the name of the late Bisahu Das Mahant. The state government has renamed the Government Medical College Korba the Late Bisahu Das Mahant Memorial Medical College Korba in honor of Mahant ji. Baghel said that the state government is moving forward in the direction of giving a new dimension to the legacy of development left behind by our forefathers. Girish Dewangan, Chairman, State Mineral Development Corporation, was also present on this occasion.
