Three children died due to snake bite, one woman serious
Bhubaneswar (IANS). Three children were killed and a woman was seriously injured in two separate incidents of snakebite in Odisha.
According to the police, in the first incident in Deogarh district, two brothers, Gaurang (14) and Saubhagya (8), died of snake bite while sleeping at their house on Monday night.
The relatives immediately took them to Devgarh Hospital where both died during treatment. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the bodies for postmortem.
The second incident took place in Katuria village under Sharta police limits in Mayurbhanj district. A poisonous snake bitten a child and his mother on Monday night. The child died while the mother was shifted to Baripada Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.
Due to rain, poisonous snakes come out of the forests and enter the houses. Last week, three students of a residential coaching center in Keonjhar district died of snake bite while they were sleeping.
