farmer committed suicide by hanging from mango tree
Mahasamund. Kanhaiyalal Sinha, a resident of Gram Panchayat Chuiya Gram Panchayat of Bagbahra Development Block of the district, committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree in his own field. A suicide note has also been found from the pocket of the deceased farmer. By registering the police case, the police have started investigating the matter.
Please tell that, Kisam has written in his suicide note that, I am a small farmer. For the last 8-9 years, there is loss in agriculture, sometimes due to water and sometimes due to pest attack. I am incurring losses every year. This year, due to low-voltage in 4 acres of rabi crop, the crop has been ruined. I did not get a single penny nor did I get any help from the government. There is a lot of problem of money. I neither got the benefit of insurance nor did I get the discount of 2 lakhs, due to which I have no choice and there is darkness all around me.
According to the information, the deceased farmer has 4.5 acres and son Bhagirathi has 1.5 acres of agricultural land. On which these farmers used to do farming. Received money by selling 50 quintals of paddy in the year 21-22 and 64 quintals of paddy in the year 22-23. Also availed the bonus. The deceased farmer has taken a loan of Rs 4 lakh from Axis Bank. On the information that the deceased had committed suicide by hanging, Tendukona police station reached the spot and registered a case and got involved in the investigation. On the other hand, the administrative officer reached the spot and provided financial assistance of Rs 20 thousand to the family of the deceased.
