Pilot questions PM Modi’s silence on Manipur violence

Jaipur (IANS). Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the Manipur issue and accused the Center of failing “miserably” to stop the violence.

Pilot was addressing a program in Tonk on Thursday after appointing Hariprasad Bairwa as the new district president of the Congress.

Underlining that rapes and murders have become common in Manipur, he said, “The prime minister has vowed to remain silent as Manipur has been burning for the last three months. The BJP government has failed. Despite this, the PM is keeping silence on this issue. Parliament is on, but BJP is not ready to discuss Manipur.

However, Pilot remained silent on the question of ‘Lal Diary’ of former minister Rajendra Singh Gudha.

He further said that BJP has also failed in the role of opposition in Rajasthan.

The Congress leader accused the BJP-led central government of discriminating against the Rajasthan government.

He said, “The central government is not providing funds for welfare schemes in Rajasthan.”
