Action taken against those who do business of hemp-liquor
Bijapur. Police have arrested 4 accused, including 2 women, on charges of trading in marijuana and drugs. Bijapur police station in-charge Surendra Ram Yadav said that information was received from the informer that Kadir Khan, who lives near the old bus stand, is selling ganja illegally along with his associates and keeping ganja in his house. After which, on the basis of suspicion, the house was searched under Section 50 of the NDPS Act by raiding the house. During the search, illegal narcotic ganja and cash amount of Rs 1500 were recovered inside a white colored bag in a big iron box kept inside the house, while 4.08 kg ganja was recovered. In another action, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vineet Kumar Sahu’s team searched the house of a woman and Jayanta Mandal in Tehsilpara by issuing a notice under Section 50 of the NPS Act. In the search, the police recovered 19 packets of intoxicating capsules and Rs 41,859. Valid documents were not given by the accused for possession of illegal narcotics, ganja and drugs. In this case, Police Station Kotwali Bijapur, while taking separate action, took the accused in remand and presented them in Bijapur court.
