ED has no reason to summon my wife Nusrat Jahan: Yash Dasgupta
Kolkata (IANS). Yash Dasgupta, husband of Bengali actress and TMC MP Nusrat Jahan, is confident that his wife has not been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a case of defrauding people of the corporate entity Seven Senses Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, where she was a director. Will go
Dasgupta told media persons, ‘The allegations of corruption worth crores of rupees are baseless. I am sure ED will not summon him.
His statement came after a section of the Trinamool Congress leadership gave clear indications of supporting Nusrat Jahan in the matter, terming it a media trial.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a statement that Nusrat Jahan is being seen as a criminal even before any evidence in this regard has come to the fore. Actress-turned-politician and Trinamool Congress youth wing state president Sayani Ghosh has directly mentioned the media-trial angle in the case.
Sayani Ghosh said, “I can say from my personal experience that this is a case of media-trial. A lot is being said in the media before any court can say anything in this case where a person is implicated even before being proven guilty. This is not right. I did not talk to Nusrat on this matter, but everyone has to keep in mind that such propaganda is not harming anyone’s image.
Let us tell you that Sayani Ghosh was recently called by the ED for questioning in the multi-crore school job case in West Bengal.
