77 kg heroin seized in Punjab, four arrested
Chandigarh (IANS). In one of the biggest heroin seizures of this year, the Counter Intelligence of Punjab Police, acting on intelligence inputs, has nabbed four drug peddlers in two operations and recovered 77 kg of heroin. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav gave this information on Sunday.
In two separate operations, 41 kg and 36 kg of narcotics were seized. Along with this, three pistols were also recovered.
“These modules were actively involved in large scale cross border and interstate drug smuggling in Punjab,” Yadav tweeted.
“An FIR has been registered at SSOC (State Special Operation Cell), Fazilka under the NDPS Act and further investigation is on to dismantle the network,” he said.
Police is committed to make the state drug free, as per the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
