Hon’ble Prime Minister on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations under the “Amrit Bharat Station Scheme”.
The foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 stations of Indian Railways was laid by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing at 11 am on Sunday under “Amrit Bharat Station Yojana”.
Former Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament Mr. Nihalchand, while expressing gratitude to all the visitors in the program organized at Sriganganagar railway station, said that 508 railway stations of the country will be modernised. About Rs 2400 crore will be spent for the modernization of 47 stations of North Western Railway. 10 railway stations of Bikaner division have been taken, out of which 3 come in Ganganagar Lok Sabha constituency. Hanumangarh, Shriganganagar and Suratgarh railway stations will be modernized with an amount of Rs 20 crore each. Entry facility will be made on both sides of Sriganganagar railway station.
What facilities will be developed
He said that these stations will have arrival/departure plaza, executive lounge, concourse area, lift and escalator, food court, shopping mall, cafeteria, play area, green building, renewable energy, waste processing, rain water harvesting, baggage scanner. Modern passenger amenities including coach indication boards and Divyangjan friendly facilities will be provided. He told that under Amrit Bharat Yojana, development of circulating area with landscape at stations, separate entry and exit gates, separate parking facilities for two-wheeler, four-wheeler and auto rickshaws, sufficient according to passenger capacity. Construction of entrance hall in the area, provision of coach indication board, waiting room, interior and exterior decoration of station building, construction with local folk art, new platform shelter, disabled friendly facilities, better signage facility, 12 m Wide foot over bridge etc. passenger facilities will be developed.
India set new records
Shri Nihalchand said that rail expansion has taken place in Ganganagar area. From Ganganagar one can go to any corner of the country. Railway electrification work has been done at a fast pace and electrification work is going on on many routes, where the work has been completed, trials have also been completed. Goods shed is being constructed at Banwali at a cost of 8 crores. Hanumangarh, Pilibanga, Jaitsar and Gajsinghpur railway stations are also being developed. He said that Vande Bharat train will start soon from Ganganagar. He said that India has set new records in the last 9 years. Today India is chairing the G20, which is a matter of pride for us. Facilities like Bharatmala and Green Corridor are being developed in the country. Amrit Bharat Station Redevelopment Plans will boost tourism, facilitate the movement of citizens, clean and modern railway stations will increase employment opportunities and will lead to economic and social development of the area.
