Accused of gangrape case escaped from police custody, 4 policemen suspended

Balrampur. Balrampur police has taken major action in the gangrape case. Along with the arrest of the accused of rape, action has been taken against the policemen who were negligent in the matter. SP Lal Umend Singh told that out of total 5 accused arrested in the rape case, 2 accused escaped by dodging the police. In this case, the police have suspended four policemen including the ASI.

The case pertains to Ramanujganj police station area of Balrampur district. According to the information, there was a complaint of gang rape with a minor. In this case, money was also extorted from the minor and his accomplice by threatening them. After the complaint of the girl, the police arrested 5 accused, but out of 5 accused, 2 accused escaped by dodging the police.

According to the police, the police had arrested Amit Kumar Kerketta, Majbullah Ansari, Gulabchand Puri, Shankar Soni and Hasnain Ansari in the rape case. An ASI and 3 policemen were deployed in this case. But out of the 5 accused arrested in the morning, two accused Shankar Soni and Hasnain Ansari escaped from the spot. The police had registered a case against all the accused under the POCSO Act. Taking major action, SP Dr. Lal Umend Singh has suspended 1 assistant sub-inspector and 3 constables in the case of the escape of the accused. The police have suspended ASI Ropan Ram Paikra, jawan Ajay Tirkey, jawan Sameer Kujur and Pankaj Sidar. All have been attached to the Balrampur Police Line.
