Police caught a big consignment of hemp, 7 smugglers arrested
Gopalganj: Despite the complete prohibition law being in force in Bihar for 7 years, drug addicts are not desisting from their habits. Some are drinking alcohol by secretly spending more money, while some are intoxicating like ganja, smack, heroin. The demand for hemp has increased a lot in the state. This is the reason why hemp worth lakhs of crores is being seized everyday. Hemp consignments are being brought to Bihar from Nepal and Odisha. The latest case is of Gopalganj where a huge consignment of cannabis has been seized by the police.
An auto going from Odisha to Siwan via Gopalganj has been intercepted. A large consignment of ganja was kept hidden by making a cellar on the roof of the auto. Which has been recovered by the police. Police has arrested 7 smugglers with 102 kg ganja. Yadopur police has taken this action during the vehicle investigation. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Jamir Miyan father Sadiq Miyan, Sachita Nand Mahato father Vikas Mahato, Shailesh Prasad father Jawahir Prasad district Siwan, Uday Kumar father Dudhnath Prasad district Siwan, Antrip Kujur husband Michael Kujur district Jaspur Chhattisgarh, Manju Devi husband Sachita Nand Mahato district Gopalganj , Manka Devi’s husband Mahavir is a resident of Harihara police station Jadopur district Gopalganj. Gopalganj police is considering it a big success. At present, the police is interrogating the arrested smugglers. The main kingpin associated with the smuggling of marijuana is being traced.
Significantly, on Tuesday, the Sitamarhi police had also recovered a huge consignment of ganja. Along with 363 kg ganja, 4 smugglers were also caught. The value of the recovered ganja was said to be Rs 2 crore. It was being taken from Nepal to Gopalganj by hiding it in a basement made in a container and hiding the ganja in a scorpion. The DIU and the police together nabbed the ganja smugglers with a huge consignment. Large consignments of ganja are being recovered day by day, seeing which it can be said that perhaps some people have started drinking ganja as an alternative to alcohol. This is the reason why its demand is high in Bihar and crores of consignments are coming to Bihar every day. Some escape by dodging the police and some get caught by the police. The police themselves are also surprised to see the consignment of ganja being recovered.
