IFFM 2023: Rani Mukerji, Vijay Varma, ‘Seetha Ramam’ and ‘Jubilee’ win awards
Mumbai (IANS). Rani Mukerji was nominated for Best Actress in a Film and Vijay Varma for Best Actor in a Series at the 14th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).
Rani won the award for ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’ and Mohit Aggarwal won the award for Best Performance in a Film for ‘Agra’.
While ‘Seetha Ramam’ was adjudged the Best Film, ‘Agra’ was declared the Best Indie Film, while Kannada filmmaker Prithvi Konnanur was awarded the Best Director.
‘To Kill a Tiger’ won the award for Best Documentary.
Vijay Varma for ‘Dahad’ and Rajshree Deshpande for ‘Trial by Fire’ were nominated as Best Performance (Male) and Best Performance (Female) in a series respectively.
Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Siddhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vamika Gabbi and Ram Kapoor starrer period drama ‘Jubilee’ was given the best series tag.
‘Connection Kya Hai’ won the award for Best Short Film and ‘Home’ by Mark Russell Bernard won the Best Short Film Australia award.
‘Equality in Cinema Award’ was given to the film ‘Darlings’, People’s Choice Award was given to Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Pathan’.
Filmmaker Karan Johar was honored for completing 25 years in the Hindi film industry.
Bollywood’s chocolate boy Kartik Aaryan was honored with the Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema.
Diversity in Cinema Award went to Mrunal Thakur, Bhumi Pednekar got Disruptor Award and Rainbow Stories Award went to Onir for ‘Pine Cone’.
