Fake liquor maker arrested, wine worth lakhs also seized

Baloda Bazar. The Excise Department has taken major action against the illegal sale of liquor as well as the maker of spurious liquor before Independence Day. The team seized a large quantity of spurious liquor and Madhya Pradesh-made Goan liquor worth Rs 6.50 lakh from the accused. In this case, Assistant Excise Commissioner Vikas Goswami said that the Excise Department of Balodabazar-Bhatapara has achieved great success against the maker of spurious liquor. The accused along with a large quantity of Madhya Pradesh-made liquor, fake lids, wrappers, scanners and printers have been arrested.

For a long time information about the sale of spurious liquor in Bhatapara Simga area was being received from informers. On the basis of information, Excise sub-inspector Jalesh Singh along with his associate officers and employees searched the house of Dilip Ghritalhare in Mandhar village, Simga, where the accused Dilip Ghritalhare was caught red-handed making spurious liquor. On searching the house, 350 pieces of liquor made in Madhya Pradesh Masala Pav and 500 pieces of Goa special whiskey made in Madhya Pradesh and 150 pieces of fake country made liquor Masala with Chhattisgarh level and fake lid were recovered from the car parked in the courtyard.

Fake cover of 2000 pieces country liquor spice and 2000 pieces fake cover of foreign liquor Goa and fake label of 800 pieces country liquor spice were also recovered from the house of the accused. Investigation revealed that the accused used to print the labels for spurious liquor with a printer machine kept in the house. While duly confiscating all the above material, the car used in the crime was also seized and the accused has been taken into custody. How the accused used to get the liquor of Madhya Pradesh to make spurious liquor is under investigation. Section 34 (1) (a), 34 (2) of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act against the accused. Case has been registered under 36. 50 (a). The market value of the seized material is 650000/-.

Let us tell you that a few days ago, the Police and Excise Department had found fake liquor making material in a house in Bhatapara, due to which it seems that this type of work is going on unabated in the district, which needs to be curbed. The entire proceedings were carried out by Excise Sub-Inspector Jalesh Singh, Vipin Pathak and Excise staff under the guidance of Assistant Excise Commissioner Vikas Goswami and Assistant District Excise Officer Sameer Mishra as per the instructions of District Collector Chandan Kumar.
