Gujarat: The 39th board meeting of the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
In the 39th board meeting of the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB) chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, it was decided to include logistics infrastructure as a priority sector in the GID Act. This will enable GIDB to rapidly undertake large infrastructure projects in the state through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with private sector participation. In this context, GIDB acts as the nodal agency for the implementation of the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan Project in Gujarat.
The PM Gati Shakti Master Plan Portal was launched at the national level on 6 October last year in Gujarat.
Acted in 1999 under the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Act (GID Act) with statutory status, the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board aims to encourage private sector participation in the state as well as enhance financial flow for infrastructure projects requiring large capital investments. Board’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Smt. Avantika Singh told through the presentation that GIDB is working with State Logistics Master Plan and 8 Metropolitan Municipalities to prepare City Logistics Master. In the meeting, he said that as a result of Gati Shakti Integrated Infrastructure Plan, integrated development planning of any area of the state can be done in less time. The development plan of Ambaji Yatradham and the development plan of Dahej industrial area are examples of this.
Consultation held in the meeting regarding the assessment report of water demand for industrial purposes in the state till 2050
Gujarat is a state with a strategic coastline of 1600 km long, in this context, consultation was also held in this board meeting of GIDB regarding the appointment of a consultant or advisor for the preparation of the Integrated Area Development Plan for the tehsils of the coastal belt. Not only this, it was also proposed to select a consultant for preparing the Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for the development of the Special Investment Region (SIR-SIR) near Navlakhi. In the board meeting, in-principle approval was given to the proposal for approval of the selection of a consultant to prepare the assessment report of water demand for industrial purposes in the state by the year 2050.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel gave guidance regarding preparation of State Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan as per PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and through this State Master Plan, Gujarat should also contribute in advance to PM Gati Shakti Master Plan.
