Liquor shop closed, dry day declared on Independence Day
Mahasamund. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, has been declared a dry day for the year 2023-24 by the state government on the occasion of Independence Day. As a result of which all the country, foreign, composite, premium liquor retail shops, F.L. 3 Sapna Bar & Restaurant and liquor store will remain completely closed. Collector Prabhat Malik has issued orders in this regard today.
Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme: More than 54 lakh people took advantage of free treatment and health checkup facility
In Chhattisgarh, with the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, arrangements have been made for free treatment to poor families living in slums of urban areas. So far, 54 lakh 40 thousand 633 people have been treated through the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme by the medical team of the Mobile Medical Unit by reaching near the houses of the people in the slum settlements. Under the scheme, doctors, paramedical teams, mobile medical units equipped with medical equipment and medicines are now providing health facilities to the people in the slums of the urban areas of the entire state. Pathology tests of 14 lakh 60 thousand 851 patients have been done so far through this scheme. Along with this, free medicines have also been given to more than 46 lakh 87 thousand 757 patients.
Under the Mukhyamantri Urban Slum Health Scheme, run by the Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government, so far 71 thousand 539 camps have been set up in slum settlements of 169 urban bodies of the state, people have been given medicines after free check-up and treatment. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria has given instructions to the departmental officers to provide free medicines to the poor people of urban areas and other needy people after health check-up.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had launched the first phase of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme on November 01, 2020, to provide health facilities to the people living in slums of 14 municipal corporation areas of the state. Under this, 60 mobile medical units started going to the slums for health check-up and treatment and distribution of medicines. On March 31, 2022, it was expanded to the urban body areas of the entire state and 60 more new mobile medical units were started. On July 1, 2023, the Chief Minister has started 5 mobile medical units for the treatment of people in slums. More mobile medical units will be started in cities for treatment of needy people including slums.
