Doctors refusing to do cataract operation, know the reason

Bilaspur. Along with Sims Medical College, the number of flu patients is continuously increasing in government hospitals of the district. Because of this, other eye operations including cataract have been postponed unannounced. 14 thousand operations were to be done in Bilaspur, but since January till now 3838 operations have been done. Along with this, this number has increased by two thousand more among the registered patients, who need immediate operation. Cataract operations have been halted undeclaredly in the entire state due to the apprehension of danger to the eyes and loss of vision.

The outbreak of eye flu is not taking its name in the district. Every fourth person is suffering from this problem and mostly this problem is being seen in children and the elderly. Cataract patients are also not being operated due to eye flu. The State Health Ministry has banned cataract operations. If the operation is done, then there is also a possibility of loss of eyesight. This is the reason why the operation of cataract patient has been stopped.
