The Chief Justice of India started smiling, know what Prime Minister Narendra Modi said?

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day. During this he praised the Supreme Court. During this, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, present at the ceremony, greeted him with folded hands.

Appreciating the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Modi raised the issue of campaign to make court decisions available in regional languages. PM Modi said that children should be able to read the decisions of the Supreme Court in their mother tongue. Thanks to the Supreme Court for this. Actually the court had said that now the operative part of the decision will be in the regional language of that area. The new beginning of uploading the translation of more than one thousand decisions on the 73rd anniversary of the Republic of India has now gone a long way. This work is being done at a fast pace under the leadership and supervision of Chief Justice Chandrachud. In January this year, making the Republic Day and its Foundation Day more memorable, the Supreme Court took a new initiative on January 26 by issuing translations of more than 1000 decisions in ten languages. Now this campaign has crossed the figure of 10,000.

Apart from Hindi, now the judgments of cases related to those states are being translated in Oriya, Gujarati, Tamil, Assamese, Khasi, Garo, Punjabi, Nepali and Bengali. Soon its scope will be extended to other and many Indian languages. Now it will be easy for the common man to seek justice by reaching the threshold of the highest court. Through this initiative, the country’s judiciary will also be able to reach the common people easily.

Please tell that now people will be able to participate in the legal process by reading the judgments of their cases in their own mother tongue and script. Under the new campaign, the number of decisions in regional languages including Hindi is increasing every day on the website of the Supreme Court. According to the Supreme Court e-Courts Committee, state-of-the-art software has been used for translation. The help of judicial officers is also being taken to translate the decisions accurately. Supreme Court judge Justice Abhay S Oak is monitoring this entire system.

At the same time, people associated with the legal profession believe that this will benefit the common people as well as law students, researchers, writers, teachers etc. from many other sections as the judgments in all relevant languages are available online in the library of law institutions. Can also be downloaded.
