Shatrujit Singh Kapoor became the new DGP of Haryana
Chandigarh (IANS). The Haryana government on Wednesday appointed Shatrujit Singh Kapoor, a 1990 batch IPS officer, as the new Director General of Police.
He P.K. Aggarwal, who retired a day before the completion of his two-year term.
Kapoor’s name was shortlisted by the panel committee of UPSC along with two IPS officers – Muhammad Aqueel (1988 batch), and Ramesh Chandra Mishra (1989 batch).
Kapoor, who was the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, is considered a confidant of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in his fight against corruption.
He was appointed the first CID chief of the state when the current government came to power in 2014.
Kapoor’s tenure has also been in the CBI.
